Per state code every school district must have a Special Education Advisory Group to allow parents to “provide input to the district on issues concerning children with disabilities” (NJ code 6A:14-1.2(h). Bordentown’s SEPAG group is called “BASE”, which stands for “Bordentown Advocates for Special Education”. BASE is a group run by volunteers that provides a place for parents to network, ask questions and provide input to the district. It is an inclusive group open to ALL parents who have concerns about their children’s learning and development no matter how small or large.
