About Me

About Me

My name is Christine Vandegrift and I will be your child's 2nd grade teacher this year.  I look forward to working with you to ensure that your child has a successful year in school.

I spent my childhood in East Hanover, NJ. I attended college at Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania (where I met my husband) and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.  I moved to Lumberton soon after that.

I began my career teaching third grade in Newark, NJ.  After my first child, I chose to stay home with my children, Courtney (16) and Marisa (14). Since then I have returned to the classroom to teach the Gifted and Talented class and Basic Skills in Lumberton.  I began at Peter Muschal in 2008 teaching first grade and the past seven years in second grade.  There is no place else I'd rather be!!!

I truly believe being a mom has made me a better teacher and being a teacher has made me a better mom.   I look forward to getting to know your child.
