Policies and Procedures 

 

Take Home Folder

  • Your child will be bringing home a Peter Muschal School (red) folder each night. This folder is for homework and important notes for parents.
  • Please make sure this folder is returned to school each day, as it is a vital part of our school-to-home communication.
  • Any notes for me or PTA/school forms should be returned to school in this folder.
  • Please check your child’s Take Home Folder each night!

 

Friday Folder

  • Each Friday your child will bring home their Friday Folder. All corrected class and homework assignments will be sent home inside this folder. Please sign and date the correct box on the outside of the folder and return to school the following Monday.

 

Homework

  • Beginning September 13th, your child will receive homework Monday through Thursday. Any incomplete class work will be sent home on Friday to be completed over the weekend.
  • Math homework will be assigned nightly and is to be completed and returned the following day.
  • A spelling homework packet will be sent home Monday and is to be completed and returned Friday. Students may complete the pages in the order of their choice, but must complete all pages by Friday.

 

Home Transportation

  • It is extremely important to notify me in writing if your child is going home in a manner that is different from his or her daily routine.
  • Unless a note is sent in, your child will go home in the usual manner. Should you forget to send in a note, call the office (609-298-2600) and speak to a secretary. The secretary will notify me of the change.
  • If your child walks home or rides in a car, you can meet them by waiting in the basketball court area by the Joseph Lawrence parking lot. 

 

Absences

  • If your child is absent from school, please call the office and leave a message.
  • When he or she returns, please send a note indicating the reason for absence.
  • Missed work will be sent home when your child returns. This work is to be completed and returned by the date noted on the Absent Work form. 

Lunch

  • The cost of lunch is $2.45. If your child is buying lunch and is paying with cash, please send your child’s money to school in an envelope or change purse with his/her first and last name on it.  Lunch boxes/bags should also be clearly labeled with your child’s full name.

 

 

Toys

  • Please do not allow your child to bring toys to school. They can easily be lost or misplaced, as well as a distraction in the classroom. You will be notified about any special “Show and Tell” times when your child will need to bring items from home.

Book Orders

  • Scholastic Book Orders will come home once a month.
  • If you’d like to place an order, you can send the order form and money (checks only) back to school in your child’s Take Home Folder by the assigned due date or order online.
